A History of Success

Deep roots in patient education

MedActionPlan originated as a project within the health literacy team at Tim Peters and Company, Inc. to create a tool for healthcare professionals to educate patients about their medications.

As a young boy, I watched my friend nearly drown. Following this traumatic incident, my friend was diagnosed with epilepsy, and I remember vividly how frightened and helpless I felt watching someone I loved experience grand-mal seizures.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but that childhood experience would ignite a passion for learning inside of me. It taught me the importance of following a physician-prescribed medication regimen to manage a serious health condition. And today, some 50 years later, that passion still serves as the hallmark of MedActionPlan — educating and empowering patients to adhere to their medication schedules.

Over the past 13 years, I have had the opportunity to work with many of you and listen to the everyday challenges you face with your patients. In developing MedActionPlan PRO, we set out to build on the success of our legacy programs. We focused on providing an indispensable resource that is patient-centered and medication-management specific. MedActionPlan PRO empowers providers and patients to better manage even the most complex medication regimens.

This new program is designed to address the number-one request we receive from customers across the United States: “Can MedActionPlan integrate with our EMR?” The answer, I’m pleased to say, is “YES!” Over the past 18 months, we have completed Epic integrations at several leading hospitals, including Children’s Health in Dallas, Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego and, most recently, Stanford Health Care. In addition, we currently have Cerner integrations underway.

If you are interested in discussing integration opportunities at your facility, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you,

Tim Peters
